 10,000 Kids In Orange County Will Receive Free, Made From Scratch Pizza To Bring In The Summer! 

To help welcome the summer, Jet’s Pizza – 2017 OCPS Award Winning Education Partner of The Year in the districts East Learning Community – will be surprising elementary kids at Orange County Schools with free summer pizzas! OnMay 31 Jet’s Pizza and their mascot will be surprising local kids with free pizza coupons. Jet’s Pizza is most notably known for their made from scratch pizza and community involvement in the Orlando area.

 The City of Orlando Public Art announces the next upcoming exhibition at Orlando City Hall’s Terrace Gallery: 49 Portraits. The 49 Portraits Project was born out of a need to respond in a meaningful and respectful way to the tragic events at the Pulse nightclub on June 12, 2016.

The project was started by Georgia art professor Mia Merlin, who teaches at Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia. She was inspired by a similar portrait project for the families of the nine victims of the June 2015 shootings at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.The 49 Portraits Project is made up of a group of 49 artists across the country who created portraits to honor the Pulse nightclub victims. Shown above are 12 of the 49 portraits. All 49 portraits will be on view at the Orlando City Hall’s Terrace Gallery from May 1 – June 14.
